Silence is golden

Hi everyone, we are back from a lovely few days looking after Charlie although the weather was not great! We got to take Charlie to one of his play groups on Friday, which took me back, some things never change:)
Just going to post my creations very quickly as my laptop is playing up again!
So here is my take on the LIM sketch challenge: Just realised I should have added a sentiment so will post an updated photo later if laptop will allow!

An Ali Reeve mask and free stamp from Craft Stamper

And here is my lyric tag forthe Quotes and Lyric challenge over at the Craft Barn. The words were Silence and or Dazzle. I chose the Tremeloe's song Silence is golden and used Sheena Douglass's faux leather technique.

 Thanks for visiting!

Up, up and away!

Hello all I've just popped in to show you what I've made for the new challenge over at the Craft Barn. The last one was the altered dictionary challenge which lasted a year and was great fun now come and see what's is store for us this year. The challenge is called Q & L (quotes and lyrics ) We have a choice whether to create a journal, an ATC or a tag.
The first two words for this fortnight are:

SMILE and/or UP

You need to use either (or both if you wish) of these words in a quote or song lyrics on your sample.

A journal seemed a bit daunting and I have decided to go with tags, so come and see:

I chose this song by Andy Williams and various other artistes.
I sponged some inks onto my tag and the balloons are from an old SeeDee set which is NBUS. The lyric was printed on my Xyron digital runner and  and some ribbon for the finishing touch. I will have to eventually make a tag book to hold them all at the end of the year:)

Thanks for visiting, I love to read your comments!

Baby blues!

Not me I hasten to add, unless it's 30 years late:) I've got a couple of cards to show you, both are blue and one's for a baby!
This week's challenge over at LIM is as follows:
For our challenge  this week we have chosen
the theme
New Baby!

Here is my take on the challenge:

Hopefully it's CAS enough, I've used a NBUS die from Memory Box and paper pieced it with a small piece of the deboss side of the EF that I inked before embossing . Two pearls and an old SeeDee sentiment complete the card.
Just realise that it's a similar challenge over at Addicted to CAS where the code word is NEW so I'm adding it there as well:)

My second card is for a challenge over at Craftyhazelnut which is an ongoing Christmas card challenge that I haven't taken part in since I began my blog 3 years ago!

For today's challenge I'd like to see Christmas cards with shades of blue (other colours can also be used, but please make sure there is plenty of blue).

I am also entering this card into Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge extra which runs every month and as long as it's a Christmas project anything goes. This gives a chance to create Christmas cards of your choice.

I used more NBUS goodies, with a stencil and stamp set from Stamps Away and a touch of glitter. Come and see:

Finally I had to respond to the first of three wedding invitations that we are invited to this year! This one is in April and is my DIL's brother's wedding and the invite is different and quite contemporary. I decided to respond using their theme which was well received and here it is:

Thanks for taking the time to visit and I hope you've had a good weekend:)

Less is More week 154 OLC

Well here I am with my first LIM challenge for 2014! Chrissie and Jen want to see the following:

This week it's everyone's favourite -
ONE LAYER CARDS
and this week the theme is
Hearts

Come and see my rustic offering :-)

I created a heart template and using Majestix stamps, stamped round the template using SU Soft Suede, Baja Breze and River Rock inks. A slightly wonky heart as it turns out but that's rustic for you!
Hope you're having a crafty weekend

At last!!

Hi everyone and Happy New Year to all my blogging friends and followers. I was beginning to think I'd never be able to blog again!! My laptop decided to play up after Christmas and eventually had to be re formatted. Dominic managed to back everything up for me and I don't think I've lost anything, there was so much that I can't imagine I'd miss anything anyway :)
Did you all get lots of crafty goodies for Christmas? I received some Couture Creations stamp, cut and emboss sets which are lovely and I've been playing with them and also a pretty tattered lace die.
So come and see what I created:

This was stamped with Early Expresso and then embossed with the matching EF. The butterflies were cut and stamped. Love the frame in this set :) The challenge at Make My Monday is asking for embossing so I am entering this card.

This was using the Tattered Lace over the edge die and layered onto cream linen card. Sentiment is from the SU Wetlands set, punched out and some liquid pearls added. I am entering this card to Addicted to CAS challenge where the code word  is DIE CUTS.

Apologies for the lack of commenting lately as I was only able to use my tablet and there was so many posts to look at that I gave up :) Be assured I enjoyed browsing your wonderful creations!
