One layer

Hi everyone I'm still here 👋 it's been 3 1/2 years since I last posted and took part in a challenge!

I saw Marie's post re her becoming part of the design team and thought I'd have a go. One layer is not really in my comfort zone but here we are I hope you like it.

One layer.......

Hi there

It's been a long while since I posted but I saw this week's challenge over at
http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com and thought I'd join in

Challenge #402 - OLC Stencils

Hey LIMettes!

We're back with our love it or hate it challenge - yes its time for some wonderful one layer cards, and this time we want to see you using some stencils on them.

I've used a lamination stencil and sentiment by Stamps by Me and added a few pen lines and 3 gems.
Looking forward to seeing all the entries

Merry Christmas

Hi all just popping in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
I've been using Instagram to post my cards and have caught up with quite a few bloggers this way.
I'm obsessed with stamps and dies by Stamps by Me and all the inspiration that Toni provides. Here are a few of my makes:

This card used double embossing with lamination stamps
not a technique I've seen before.

Once again merry Christmas to you all and a very crafty 2019!

Blossoms....

Hi everyone just a quick post to show a card I've made for the LIM challenge. I've not entered a challenge for ages but as this stamp arrived through my door this morning it seemed to be telling me something 😉
The theme is florals:

We're back with our latest challenge which is that somewhat 'dreaded' ONE layer card challenge but it's an easy theme so we hope you'll love it! We've all got loads of beautiful floral sets in our craft stash so let's get creating...

The stamp and sentiment is from Stamps by Me and was a member's gift this week on C&C. Stamped with versafine and loosely watercoloured.

Hope everyone is well x

I'm also entering my card into The Flower Challenge

Back for a one day special........

Hi everyone, well it has been a long time since my last post,9 months to be precise! I have not stopped making cards but I seem to have lost interest in blogging.
I post my cards on Instagram [ valeriehaigh ] and keep up with crafty friends on FB but this month is special as it's the 6th birthday of Happy Little Stampers and I was on the original DT.

Kylie is the originator of the company and all it's challenges and she also designs and sells her own stamp and die range. She has arranged craft retreats over here which have been fantastic and back in November she stayed with us too.

So here is my card for Kylie:

I used new layering stencils by Stamps For Me and watercolour inks. The sentiment is also from the same company.

Hope you are all well and maybe see you sooner rather than later xx

Hola.........

Hi everyone just popping in to say Hola from sunny Spain 🌞🌞
Commenting has not been top of my list, we are just relaxing in a totally secluded tropical garden with a pool! 🏊
The temperature is just right with a breeze and no humidity, perfect.

We had a great bank holiday weekend, not only was the weather sunny but Charlie stayed on with us for 4 days and we had a ball! One of the days we went into London and did an open air bus tour and saw all the sights. Charlie was very impressed that we took the bus to the station then the overground and then the underground to Piccadilly Circus, a plethora of transport! I made him a framed collage of all the sights he saw and funnily enough Pudding Lane made a huge impression as he knows about the Great Fire.

I do have a couple more cards to show you now that the special days have passed.

This art Deco card was for my friend using a Tattered Lace set of dies.

A christening card made with Craft Artist and decoupaged

Finally my card for Dominic my eldest son. This month has been very exciting for us, some of you may know that he is a writer and he has just been offered a 2 book deal by Headline publishers! One very proud mum 😍
We took Charlie back in time for Phoebe's 2nd birthday, where did that time go?

This was her face when she saw her cake 😂

A couple of holiday snaps to finish.

Adiós amigos xx

More birthdays......

Hi everyone, well August is my worst month for birthdays, I have 8 cards to make and 4 of them are for men!! 😯

We have been busy socialising and been to Portsmouth to see the littlies twice. Also down to Goodwood to watch my son have a driving experience which he loves. The family are joining us for the bank holiday weekend as it's my eldest son's birthday and then Charlie is staying on with us for 4 days, he is beyond excited! 😍 We may need our holiday in September!

Anyway here are a few of the cards that I have been busy with:

Lots of my friends are baby boomers including myself!

A digital page featuring Phoebe's first paddle!

Sorry for my lack of commenting recently, I hope to catch up with you all soon x

Big birthday....

Not for me, that's later this year and unfortunately will be the next number up!!!
This was for my friend Caroline who I taught with for 20 years and it's the friends that I miss not the work!! 😂

I used the Sue Wilson frame and the roses are clay from a mould.

Another big birthday this time for a neighbour's little girl, Lily, who was one!

August is my busiest month for birthdays so beware the next post will be picture heavy 😀

Winner!

Evening all well we're back from Portsmouth, Brixham and Somerset. We were so lucky with amazing weather and it's lovely to catch up with old friends. Think a detox is in order now as we did over indulge!

Whilst we were away I found out that my Christmas card on my last post won the challenge, I am now waiting for my prize to arrive, how exciting 😀.

I have a couple of cards to share, come and see:

This is a card in a box for my goddaughter Abby who got married last month

A box frame for new baby

Flowery box card for a friend's birthday

Enjoy your weekend and I'll just leave you with my latest photo of Phoebe 😀

A couple of challenges...

Hello everyone everyone I hope you all survived the heatwave?!!! I'm enjoying this cooler weather and have been able to craft again as it was oppressive in my craft room.
I've got a Christmas card and an ATC to show you, come and see:

The challenge over at Christmas cards all year long asked for a house or cabin and this is a favourite stamp of mine, Stampendous I think?

There is a new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers to create an ATC and the theme is Flowers and here is mine:

A brushos background and an iris stamp from Altenew embossed in white and a few paper pen pearl embellishments.

That's all for now we are off to see the littlies at the weekend and then off to Brixham to stay with friends so I may be MIA for a while.

Celebrations.......

Hello everyone just popping in this afternoon to show you 3 cards that I've made for 3 different celebrations.
Firstly a birthday card for a special birthday that unfortunately we couldn't go to because we were at a wonderful wedding!

Secondly the wedding card which is a book card and we were blessed with beautiful weather

And last but not least Charlie has a new baby cousin called Dylan

Hoping this weather continues although I'm off to the theatre tomorrow so don't want it humid on the Underground!

Crafty theme......

Evening all, wow I can't believe it's been a month since I posted!
I've had a couple of commissions and a friend's birthday and the cards have all had a theme, I'm sure you'll cotton on 😂

This was for my friend Mandy who is in to knitting in a big way!

This was a commission for a lady who knits, sees and does tapestry.

This was another commission for an avid crocheter, is that a word?

2 cards for men friends who have reached three score and ten this month!

Charlie and co are arriving for the weekend so fun and games and mayhem are in order!
Enjoy the bank holiday, for once the weather looks good 😎

Christmas challenge....

Afternoon all, well surprising myself with 2 posts in 2 days! I caught sight of Kylie's Christmas challenge over at HLS and I love making Christmas cards so here is my card:

The criteria is Anything goes with the option of embossing. I used Card-i-o stamps and SU sentiment and silver and white embossing powder.

Easter mayhem!

Hello everyone I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break?
The family descended on Thursday and in typical fashion my dishwasher died that evening! 😣 There was no way I was going to wash up over the next 4 days so thanks to AO a new machine was delivered next day!
We had Charlie and Phoebe all to ourselves for 24 hours as Keir took Lara away for a spa night in a lovely hotel.
We have beautiful gardens near us which were hosting an Easter trail so we all did that on Saturday and had a picnic as it was a lovely day.
Lara and I had a couple of hours off on Sunday as she took me off to see Beauty and the Beast, great film.
After the littlies had their Easter hunt Charlie organised one for us by hiding our eggs and writing clues all by himself for us to follow 😍
I have been crafting but can't show you much as the birthdays haven't arrived yet. I made a couple of Easter cards come and see:

I made this for the children but my OH couldn't see that it was a rabbit disappearing down a hole!!

3 birthday cards, first one for my favourite nephew and the other 2 for friends

Finally a couple of the littlies 😉

See you soon x
