A Dicken's of a project!

Evening everyone, phew it's warm here again but can't complain I'm just hoping we get good weather on Sunday as it's my eldest son, Dominic's, birthday BBQ :-SSAlso my darling Charlie is bringing his parents for the weekend, 3 whole days :x of fun!
Anyway the reason I am blogging this evening is a project that I have made for Dominic, who is a writer, which explains what  I have to share with you.
A week or so ago I found myself on Margie's blog and was blown away by her altered book. Totally different to the Alpha challenge that I am participating in which is an altered dictionary. I've always been drawn to old books and have picked several up over the years so come and see what I chose and the finished result.

The book is Pickwick Papers and I downloaded images of Charles Dickens, the Pickwick Club and some fountain pens. It is taking pride of place on his writing desk  ;)
I will definitely have another go at altering a book but check out Margie's blog for inspiration!

Thanks for visiting, I appreciate the time and hopefully your feedback.

Wow Valerie, I love your book! What a great idea using Pickwick Papers for your base book and those images you have downloaded are just perfect for this. Your folds are immaculate too - I bet Dominic will be so impressed with it. Thanks so much for the link. Nice to have a fellow folder Margie xx

I also found Margie's creation to be inspiring and would love to try it myself one day (added to my To Do list!!!)

How weird Val.........I've been making Christmas Angels & Trees from books. I can't post them as we're doing them with the girls at club but will send you a photo via email. This is a gorgeous project and not at all surprised it has pride of place on Dom's table. Hope you all have a great weekend and lovely BBQ on Sunday for Dom's birthday (supposed to be good weather fingers crossed). I'm sending his card tomorrow because of BH Monday - want to make sure it gets there on time.

Hope the weather is kind for your party tomorrow...should be by all accounts, enjoy...and Charlie cuddles too. After our big family 'do' here recently more relatives have invited themselves. So will have to get all our family over yet again to see them, so another big 'do'.Only just recovered from the last one so lots of work I fear...and joy of course.Having both grandsons and parents over on Monday too.....it's all go here lol.Sorry I am late commenting again :) Viv xx
