Card no 2!

Just a quick post to show the 2nd card that I made for this week's LIM challenge. Again I used Craft Artist popping an image I found on the internet into a frame. It's cut out with a die and the centre covered in glossy accents.

The base is ribbed black card from Anne-Marie designs.

Thanks for taking the time to visit, it's much appreciated!

Less is More week 130-A Pinterest Picture inspiration

Afternoon everyone, well it's not raining today although it's cloudy and slightly humid. Tomorrow is supposed to be hot, sunny and 29 degrees!
This week's challenge over at Less is More is a picture inspiration, come and see:

Week 130 A Pinterest Picture Inspiration

For our recipe this week we have a killer picture inspiration for you.
Are these shoes fab or are they fab?
We'd love to see where these take you!

I haven't got a shoe stamp, digi or rubber but I had this digi from Beyond the Fringe and thought it was appropriate and I found the sentiment on the internet.

I used Craft Artist to resize the circle image and add the sentiment and printed it out. I cut it out with a die and mounted it onto a black circle. I cut a tiny circle frame of  1/16th with my circle cutter to frame the sentiment and popped it on a square card. I added glossy accents to the red shoe, rounded 2 corners and created some pearls with a black paper pen. I wanted to add a birthday sentiment but couldn't think where to put it. I finally punched a circle, added a peel off ( sorry about the swear word ) and slipped it behind the topper.
I have another card nearly ready for this challenge too so I expect to see you later ;;)

Fairytale Fungi

Afternoon everyone from a lovely cool London and the odd heavy shower, which means I don't have to water the garden!
We had a lovely weekend in Portsmouth to Charlie sit all day Saturday as Keir and Lara were at a wedding. He was as good as gold and took us out for lunch at Port Solent where the waitresses fell in love with him. We went to Birdworld on Friday and Charlie was fascinated by the birds, he loves the sounds and there were some beautiful birds to see. I have some photos to share with you at the end.
Anyway back to the reason for my post, it's another letter for the Alpha challenge over at the Craft Barn. This time the letter is T and toadstools was my first thought, come and see what I did:

I used a Polkadoodle stamp and created a template to allow me to have some plain toadstools and then used the image at the front. I also used a CI stamp and Chapel Road stamp to create the foliage.
I missed the last challenge which was the letter Y because I busied myself with creating a page for the word I had chosen and just as I was about to post it I saw that we had to use yellow! That'll teach me to read the criteria properly.
Here are a few photos from Birdworld:

Less is More week 129-theme-FLOWERS

All right folks, own up, whose hanging on to that storm?!!!! We need one to clear the air down here, Friday and Saturday were lovely and I even managed to catch up on the dreaded housework  :)
I've got three cards to show you today, come and see: This week's LIM challenge is
For our THEME this week
we would love to see
Hand made Flowers
You may use any medium you like... felt, paper, card, acetate, fimo, embossing powder, whatever you can conjure up!

I made two cards, for the first one I made a ribbon flower and used paper clay to make the leaves.

For the second one I punched out some flowers and used liquid pearls for the centres.

Finally I made a card using the House Mouse cd for a friend's birthday who likes cutsie cards.

I had to go to the dentist at lunch time to have a crown put back and thank god for mirrors. I had to wear goggles during the appointment and before I left I popped to the loo and looking back at me in the mirror was a PANDA!! The goggles had fogged up in the heat and my mascara had ran and there I was chatting away and no one said anything:)

Thanks for visiting it's much appreciated:)

New home.

Now this is what I call nice summer weather  :) Yesterday afternoon I was totally engrossed in my book and gently swinging on my garden sofa and when I got up I felt rather sick!! I think it was a bit like reading in the car, a no no for me so I had to go and lie down  !:-&
Although my craft room is tiny I have a fan and it's nice and cool so I had a New Home card to make for a friend who moved on Friday. I was inspired by a card I saw on  SC and wanted to use my new lattice die, come and see what I made:

If you check out the tutorial I loved the card but I only have a cuttlebug and no dies big enough to create the same effect unless I made a tiny card! So I cut and embossed a strip of card with the Britannia lattice die and glued them each side and then cut around the shape. The topper is a Beaded oval and MB poppy. The vine is MB Honeysuckle and I used DI Bundled Sage and Victorian Velvet.

I am entering this into A Gem of a Challenge which is  Anything but a Square

Thanks for taking the time to visit, it's much appreciated  ;)

Less is More week 128-one layer with a twist!

Phew, hot, hot, hot!!! We were Charlie sitting for a couple of days and then got back Saturday to attend a Summer Ball. Too hot for dancing but I managed to boogie as long as I had my fan, which kept me cool  :D/
Anyway this week's challenge over at Less is More is:

One Layer Challenge
this week we like to see cards which are
NOT SQUARE or RECTANGULAR

I had this idea of making a cake shaped card which I quite like IRL but it looks decidedly odd in the photo, more like a liner!!

I drew the shape, cut around  and decorated it using Majestix stamps and SU Baja Breeze and So Saffron inks. I used liquid pearls to the centre of the flower.

Charlie was in great form and is communicating very well  with baby signing, his favourite is the one that asks for more  :) So on that note I'll leave you with my latest photo of him!

Shades of Grey!

Well my diva moment from a week ago was surpassed with this week's top billing at the O2! Surprised? Oh I forgot to mention the other 16,499 rock choir members who helped me lift the roof at the O2   ;) Amazing experience, Michael Buble tried to get in but he didn't have a ticket!!!!!!
Anyway I'm back down to earth and doing a little crafting for this week's Less is More challenge.

This week we want to see...

Now you don't need to use fifty shades but we would like to see a minimum of two shades on your creations this week. Don't forget that all important white (or grey space).

Grey is a great colour especially when mixed with another colour which is a good job as I only had 2 choices of card , one inkpad and one promarker! Come and see what I made:

Recipe
SU Spiced paisley stamps
Pewter liquid pearls
Grey card stock

Butterfly was from a set of wedding place cards
Sentiment deliberately shadowed!

You may remember from a previous post that I made a box card for Christina who leads our Rock choir, well here is the finished interior and the box I made to put it in.

Hope you are enjoying this glorious weather, long may it last! Thanks for visiting and hopefully leaving a comment so that I can visit you  :)

Busy Bees!

It's a new letter over at the Craft Barn's Alpha challenge which gave me a chance to use some of my new stamps. Bit of an obvious choice of words but it had to be done, come and see:

The background stamp is Honeycomb by Indigoblu and the bee is from an Artemio set, both purchased with my voucher from the Craft Barn! The letters are a sizzix die. Ink is Mustard Seed DI.

My dictionary is getting quite fat now and  I love looking through it:)
