Less is More week 112-recipe

Hi everyone from a very cold London town! I can't believe we are a quarter way through the year and it's still freezing. We have had snow but nothing like up north!! That's more like Canadian winters with houses covered in snow drifts. Anyway back to this week's challenge over at LIM towers. The criteria is to use BEADS somewhere on your card which didn't appear that difficult but I spoke too soon:) Definitely less is more and my 2nd attempt was more to my liking, come and see:

I stamped an SU Christmas bauble and a blossom from Bright Blossoms with Paris Dusk. I stamped the bauble again and cut the bottom straight for a vase effect. I popped it up on silicone glue and added 3 sprigs of pearl beads. The sentiment is a WOW one.

Now for my first attempt which is a tad over the top!!

The stamp is a magazine freebie and I added seed beads for her stole. They seemed to get everywhere and the card grew larger than I wanted and my idea, which I thought was a winner, was not! One to be de constructed and used elsewhere methinks:):

  8. LOVE that vase of flowers and bead sprigs. Lovely colors too and perfectly CAS (and beautiful)! The second card is so pretty with the seed bead stole - looks like it took a lot of work!.

I laughed about the Canadian winters ... it's only snowy and freezing up north. Where I am (Vancouver, B.C.) ... we hardly had any snow this year and today the sun is shining and it's warm enough to sit outside and enjoy a cup of tea! :) Loll xx

  9. Don't you just hate that Loll?!!! lol I bet she's sent the weather over on purpose......... anyway back to the matter in hand - both cards are lovely but my favourite is the first one with the spray. Love the way you've slightly offset the blue and white punched borders on your second card. You'll probably be hoovering up seed beads for ever and a day! Still keeping fingers crossed for our trip up to you on Saturday - it's been trying to snow all day but didn't come to much.......just very, very cold.

  14. Two wonderful cards Val - the SU bauble vase is my favourite (I LOVE SU products!!) and the pearl sprays look fabulous. Love that deep blue too.

Yes, it's still very cold up here in West Yorkshire Val - the white fluffy stuff is still with us, but hopefully, one day soon, we will have sunshine and warmth!!!!
